Contributing editor George Vukelich devotes his Listening In column to Jeff Hansen, host and producer of WORT Radio's A Public Affair. The show "has evolved to bring into the debate the voices of those left out of the mainstream debate and whose analyses help to flesh out the picture," says Hansen, citing Noam Chomsky, Alexander Cockburn and Erwin Knoll as examples. "Our goal is to provide...an honest picture of reality. If the mainstream media was doing its job, there wouldn't be much of a need for alternative media." Hansen is now program director for KUOW Puget Sound Public Radio in Seattle, Wash. WORT continues to air A Public Affair at noon Monday through Friday.
