As hints of spring begin to appear - 'tis the teasing season, to be sure - we begin to anticipate the local rites, one of them being the annual Wisconsin Film Festival. Take this as a hint that the program for the film fest accompanies your Isthmus this week.
The program comes out about a month before the event in order for you to make your preparations. This year's film fest runs April 2-5 and, as usual, presents you with a nearly overwhelming number of options to sate your viewing desires. You'll need the time to review the choices that the presenting UW Arts Institute has given you, to plan your schedule and to buy your tickets. You'll find everything you need to accomplish that in the program.
While we are near giddy at the prospect of the film festival and the warmer weather, we have other business to attend to that we initiated during the cold, dark months. A lot of our winter activity had to do with our website, TheDailyPage.com, and build-outs to certain portions of it. And there's one project that's still in its early stages that you can help us with.
You may know that we have a very extensive list of area restaurants. We'd like to get more reader involvement by expanding on the information available on the various restaurants and providing for diner feedback. Once you access the Eats roster, either by clicking on the Eats tab or by entering through the widget on the home page, you can sort the restaurants alphabetically, by location or by type of cuisine. Click on the name, and you'll get the particulars, including hours, location (including map) and any articles or reviews Isthmus has done on the restaurant.
You'll also find instructions to allow you to post your own review of the restaurant and a star rating system. We can't do this last part; it's your culinary experience that counts. We'll appreciate your comments, either on the restaurant or on the system.
