Tenney Park at Twilight
Today's image is titled Tenney Park at Twilight was photographed by Nataraj Hauser.
As waterways throughout Madison continue their gradual freezing process, the potential for winter fun grows nearer. Shot in late November, this photo shows a thin glaze of ice covering the surface of the Tenney Park Lagoon, a dangerously picturesque setting for outdoor ice skating through the heart of winter.
Don't lace up quite yet, though. "The ice rinks are dangerously thin ice and are not yet ready for skating," warned the Madison Parks Division in a winter sports notice issued on Wednesday. "All of the rinks and lagoons have open water areas. Parks staff will alert the public when the ice is safe for everyone to skate on." More information about outdoor skating rink conditions and status is provided here by the city.
