Today's image is titled part my hair, and kiss my brow, and say, my love why sufferest thou? and was photographed by Kandy Watson.
In his short love poem titled "Longing," the Victorian writer Matthew Arnold originally unveiled the words that make up the title of this photo, shot at the "Hot Mess!" drag king and burlesque show on Saturday at the Majestic Theatre in downtown Madison. Along with local troupes that included the MadKings, Foxy Veronica's Peach Pies, and Cherry Pop Burlesque, the event also brought performers from Milwaukee and Chicago to the stage.
Hundreds of people turned out for the show, which was organized by Emily Mills, a local writer, actor, filmmaker (and contributor to The Daily Page). More images from "Hot Mess!" can be viewed in a report after the show. "It was a resounding success, and I'm still not entirely sure how I managed to pull it off. I had help, of course, and should I ever do this sort of thing again, I will make sure to have even more help. But still, wow."
