As I wrote yesterday, Brett Hulsey has been attacking Dianne Hesselbein on a number of issues, namely the Regional Transit Authority and the county's purchase of the Ice Age Trail. Hesselbein struck back yesterday, sending out a mailer that accused Hulsey of "swiftboat" tactics and attacked him for his consulting work on behalf of Alliant energy and other "special interests." Here is the front side and the back side of the mailer.
"While Hulsey claims to champion environmental issues, his hard record reveals him to be a paid-for lobbyist that has advocated anti-environmental goals," the flyer reads.
"HULSEY HAS LOBBIED FOR THE SPECIAL INTERESTS THAT KILLED THE CLEAN ENERGY JOBS ACT," it later says. The campaign specifies the WIsconsin Grocers Association and the Wisconsin Propane Gas Association as two groups Hulsey has worked for.
