If you care about the issues, don't watch. But, if you are like me, and you are fascinated by the artistry of political rhetoric, as well as seeing history in the making, watch the debate between Scott Walker and Tom Barrett tonight, at 7 p.m. Come on. And if you don't care about either of those, take the debate as an opportunity to start pre-gaming. If I had thought about this in advance I might have organized a debate watching event at some bar, but I didn't and now I don't know what bar would be up for it now. Moreover, I have a sick girlfriend to tend to. Here's an impromptu drinking game:
The following expressions merit a shot:
"Adult Supervision."
"Brown Bag."
"Madison on a diet."
"1998 Saturn"
"Cadillac Healthcare"
"Pension scandal"
That shouldn't get you too drunk. Unless the candidates are complete morons, I'd like to think they wouldn't use the above more than a couple times. The following are more run-of-the-mill slogans that merit a big gulp of Blatz.
"Gimmicks"
"Big Government/Small Government"
"Common Sense Solutions"
"Proven Leader"
"Job Creation"
"Tax cuts"
