Flak Photo is a Madison-based online magazine devoted to the distinctive work of photobloggers from around the world. In an effort to convey the thematic and geographical breadth and depth of images featured on the award-winning Web site, editor-publisher Andy Adams shares a selection of photographs by ten Flak Photo contributors.
Among the photographers represented in the gallery at right:
- , who grew up in metro Detroit but now maintains a studio in Brooklyn, and is perhaps best known for his intriguing compositions focused on road kill;
- , a photographer and graphic designer from Connecticut;
- , a Pennsylvania native now living in St. Louis, where he makes "photographs of the simple, quiet times in life," according to his biography.
Taken together, these photographers hint at the variety of distinctive styles, tones, subject matter, composition and palettes to be found in the much larger galleries at Flak Photo, where Adams curates a collection of images from around the world -- images that are captivating, exhilarating, intriguing and eye-opening, often all at once.
