Three Champion pool tables and an 18-foot Champion shuffleboard table will be the centerpieces of the new expansion at the Great Dane Hilldale. The billiards room is "really a beautiful space," says Great Dane director of operations Ted Peterson.
It's all part of a 4,000 square foot expansion at the brewpub. The new space will have its own entrance as well as access from the main pub area. More details about the remodeling at the brewpub are discussed by Robin Shepard in his review of its Siam Strong Pale Ale.
The finishing touches on the billiards area, including the installation of the booths, is happening right now, with a target opening date of next Monday. But in the meantime, plenty of celebrating of the renovation is already taking place, with an expansion premiere featuring DJ Justin Baker on Friday, Feb. 13 and a Valentine's Day party with DJ Scooly on Saturday, Feb. 14.
However, the official expansion grand opening celebration is scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 28, with free commemorative pint glasses to the first 250 people, $1 pints from 4-6 p.m. and live music from DJ Kid Cut Up and the band Glue. There will continue to be DJs Friday and Saturday nights, says Peterson.
