A week's delay has only heightened interest in the Madison city council's debate of the proposed Edgewater hotel expansion. The council was originally going to take up the issue last Tuesday, but 17 inches of snow intervened.
In the meantime, Ald. Lauren Cnare has sought a compromise that might put off the vote indefinitely. If she is unsuccessful, a "super majority" of alders are required to overrule the Landmarks Commission's ruling that the proposed expansion is not "appropriate" for the historical district in which it will reside.
Some fun live blogging technology allows us to not just report the goings-on live from the council floor, but invite you to join in from your couch.
Simply tune in here, to this post, Tuesday evening (the meeting is scheduled to start at 6:30 pm) and launch the window below. The rest is self-explanatory.
We hope to see you later!
