Scott Stapp plays Brat Fest at 6 p.m. on Saturday, May 24.
When the World's Largest Brat Fest returns to the Alliant Energy Center's Willow Island May 23-26, it will sound a bit different than usual. Tim Metcalfe, president of event sponsor Metcalfe's Market, has added Christian rock and a Sunday worship service to the celebration of sausage, songs and charitable giving.
On May 23 at 6 p.m., a few hours before Poison singer Bret Michaels sets foot on the Ho-Chunk Gaming Madison Grand Stage, Christian rockers Building 429 will perform on the Lifest EZ Office Products Stage. The pattern of 6 p.m. Christian concerts on the Lifest stage followed by 8:30 p.m. shows by well-known acts on the Ho-Chunk stage continues: Creed's faith-professing frontman, Scott Stapp, appears before Shooter Jennings and Waymore's Outlaws on May 24, and Christian rap act Group 1 Crew perform before country band Madison County on May 25. Christian rock act Seventh Day Slumber hit the stage at 5 p.m. on May 26 before a 7:30 p.m. show by post-grunge band Tantric.
Three other stages will feature local acts like the Madison Jazz Orchestra, the Madison Blues All-Stars and Black Star Drum Line.
