Central Library 201 W. Mifflin St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: Wisconsin Book Festival presents the Creative Writing Award Ceremony
Please join UW-Madison’s Program in Creative Writing this Thursday at 7pm, in room 302 of the Madison Public Library (201 W Mifflin St) for our annual Creative Writing Awards Ceremony, featuring poet and UW undergraduate alumna Carrie Lorig. We’ll be handing out more than $10,000 in prizes, while celebrating the very best poets and fiction writers at UW this year. If you entered to win a poetry or fiction prize in March or April, then you need to be at this ceremony! Winners will not be notified that they have won until the ceremony itself. So come rejoice in the triumphs of your classmates and friends! And hear some incredible poetry by Carrie Lorig, while you’re at it.
CARRIE LORIG is the author of The Pulp vs. The Throne (Artifice Press). Her chapbooks include The Book of Repulsive Women, which was selected by Lily Hoang for the Essay Press Chapbook Contest, Reading as a Wildflower Activist, and NODS (Magic Helicopter Press). A chapbook called The Blood Barn will be published by Inside the Castle in Spring 2019.
