Upcoming outings:
Sun Apr 21 1:30 "Find Spring Ephemerals"
Join Naturalist Alex Singer for a free family friendly walk on easy paths at Warner Park to enjoy the return of Spring! Ephemerals are flowers that bloom in woodlands while trees are still bare and sunlight reaches the ground. Warner Woods is reportedly the oldest uncut woods in Madison and it still harbors a variety of beautiful native wildflowers. Can you find the blotchy green lancet (spear shaped) leaves of Trout Lily, cheery daisy shaped Bloodroots, delicate Dutchmen's Breeches hanging in a row, bright white three-petaled Trilliums, Mayapple blossoms beneath large leaf umbrellas, yellow striped leaf cups of Jack in the Pulpit and other Spring Wildflowers along the path?
