Commvergence Conference brings speakers to Public Relations and Advertising students

Commvergence offers students the opportunity to network with more than 20 working professionals from agencies, nonprofits and corporations. Commvergence also features a resume and cover letter workshop.
"It's critical students connect with professionals in the field," said Dr. Ann Knabe, PRSSA advisor. "Networking is one of the most important skills they need to find their internships and jobs." The Commvergence conference also gives students an opportunity to find out moreabout the different areas within the communication professions. While the fields of advertising, public relations and social media are often combinedunder one agency, there are still distinct areas of industry.
The Commvergence conference takes place in Hyland Hall and is open to students in high school and college as well as faculty interested in communication careers. Registration costs $15 for college students who pre-register online, and $20 the day of the event. High school students are also invited to attend for free.
