Andanza Spanish Arts (based in San Francisco) presents its 2015 national tour debuting a unique Flamenco quintet that includes two exceptional artists direct from Spain: El Niño Manuel (guitar/composer) and Gori (singer/composer). Both artists were born in Sanlúcar de Barrameda (Cádiz), the cradle of flamenco in Andalucia, and are disciples of the great masters Manolo Sanlúcar and Isidro Sanlúcar. This show includes percussionist Juan Tomás Martínez, La Azucena (dancer), Juan Carlos Díaz Vélez (dancer), and dancer/choreographer/2014 SF Bay Area Dancers' Choice award winner Danica Sena and will treat aficionados and music enthusiasts alike to forms particular to this region such as el mirabrás, la rosa, tanguillos, etc. It is a special collaboration of artists from the expanse of two continents who share a deep knowledge of flamenco tradition and investigation together with contemporary style.
