Come visit the green-built Aldo Leopold Foundation building on Leveel Road in Columbia County, as well as Leopold's Shack, made famous in his book The Sand County Almanac. We will have a guided tour with Leopold Foundation staff and will be looking for early fall colors, late-blooming plants, and listening for birds along the way. Bring your binoculars, clothing appropriate for being outdoors and indoors, bug spray and sunscreen if you wish, and a bag lunch to enjoy during the trip. Meet at 8 a.m. at the Waunakee Middle School parking lot at the intersection of Simon Crestway and Winston Way if you would like to carpool to the Shack via the scenic Merrimac Ferry. A $10 donation to the Aldo Leopold Foundation is required for this trip. You must RSVP, as space is limited to 20 people. Please contact Emily Meier at email@example.com or call (608) 255 2473 to register. Please be ready to provide your contact information and a method of payment for the donation.
