Marquette Bungalows Historic Architecture Walking Tour
11 a.m. Saturdays July 18 & Sept. 12
6 p.m. Thursdays June 25 & Aug. 13
The 47 Craftsman-style bungalows in this small historic district are the densest concentration of Craftsman-style homes in the city. They weren’t designed by trained architects, but by craftsmen working for the Karrels Building Co. between 1924 and 1929. Learn about jerkinhead dormers, battered piers and the 48th house is not a bungalow. Meet at the small parking lot behind Marquette Elementary School (at approx. 1480 Spaight St.) Tour length: 1 hour. Tickets: $10 adults, $5 students; purchase ticket from tour guide.
