Hancock Center for Dance/Movement Therapy 16 N. Hancock St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
press release: On-going Wednesdays. 4:00-4:50 pm Open Enrollment
$20/class or $75/5 classes
A therapeutic class filled with movement, music and opportunities for social interaction. This group is a safe place for people to come and engage through the universal language of movement. During our time together, we will explore issues around relationships, health and body-image, self-esteem and positive leisure activities.
Individuals in this class come with a wide range of needs, from experiencing life on the autism spectrum to cognitive delays to physical challenges They are joined by volunteers to provide an inclusive experience. Class participants enjoy expressing themselves physically and often increase their movement repertoire through the exploration of different props and varying dance styles. This class helps participants who tend to isolate to join with others, and helps those who have limited sense of personal boundaries to learn socially acceptable ways to connect.
Please join us for movement, music and playful activities with dance/movement therapist Ann Wingate. There are currently openings for new members in this on-going group. No previous dance experience required.
If you have or know a person who would enjoy this social and therapeutic dance experience please contact:
