Saturday, April 18th 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM
The Epilepsy Foundation Heart of Wisconsin, in collaboration with the UW Waisman Center, the Arc-Dane County, and Edgewood College, is offering the siblings of children with special needs a day set aside just for them. Here they can discuss and share feelings on what it's like growing up with that sibling, and the common fears they are faced with socially and mentally. These youth face many of the same challenges - and joys - as their parents; learning how to cope with this early in life is an important factor in strengthening the relationship with their sibling. Children may not yet realize it, but the relationship they develop with their sibling will be the longest relationship that the sibling might ever have.
All siblings of children with special needs are invited to take part in the program. This is an all-day event, and includes lunch, t-shirt, book, team-building activities and pizza dinner for the family.
$7.00 per child.
Kindergarten through Grade 12.
Enrollment is limited.
