Taste Traditions of Wisconsin: Wisconsin's Friday Night Fish Fry Tradition.
Thursday, April 16, 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
Contemplate your favorite Friday night fish fry experiences in Wisconsin with folklorist Janet Gilmore as she tells stories about hers, draws on interviews with local fishing people and fish cooks, and places diverse culinary examples from around the state in culturally plural and historical perspective. Learn how the event's social ambience and culinary variety are vital to the fish fry's ongoing popularity and are also important to trends in culinary tourism, social media, and the local foods movement in Wisconsin. A fish fry dinner will accompany the program.
