TWIN SHADOW SIGNS TO WARNER BROS. RECORDS
LOS ANGELES-BASED ARTIST TO RELEASE THIRD ALBUM, SPRING 2015
HEADLINING TOUR BEGINS IN MARCH 2015
Warner Bros. Records is pleased to announce that it has signed George Lewis, Jr., AKA Twin Shadow, to its roster, and will release the Los Angeles-based artist's third album, next Spring. Twin Shadow will then embark on a headline tour behind the album starting in March 2015. Dates below. Earlier this year, Twin Shadow released the single 'To The Top,' which he performed on Conan in June. Billboard stated, "Twin Shadow's canyon-sized 'To The Top' has lofty goals and proceeds to soar straight past them," and Stereogum deemed the track a "masterpiece" and "possibly the biggest, grandest thing that Lewis has ever recorded."
George Lewis Jr. announced today:
When I last wrote, I shared the news that we had to postpone our tour. With a huge sigh of relief I can finally reveal a few more details about what is happening in the Twin Shadow camp and also share new tour dates with you.
Towards the end of the recording of the third Twin Shadow album I came into a strong feeling, a place of creative change from which I'd like to give you an uncompromised experience at every turn. In order to push in the right direction I had to put the brakes on the tour, the planned album release, and reconsider where Twin Shadow was headed. With a bit of perspective I came to realize that I was going to need help to pull off the vision for this next album.
I'm excited to announce that I've found a group of like minded people at Warner Bros. Records to help me accomplish this goal. In the interest of progress and adventure I look forward to the new relationship (and hopefully a coffee with Prince).
The new Twin Shadow album will be released next year and there will be new music coming soon.
The Dominican Republic-born, Florida-bred Lewis adopted the Twin Shadow moniker in 2006. He has released two previous albums on indie labels Terrible and 4AD, 2010's Forget and 2012's Confess - an international critical smash that Pitchfork hailed as 'Best New Music' for its "brash lyrics [and] laser-focused songwriting." Uncut called it "an impeccable sequel to an immaculate debut" and NME dubbed a "thrill ride." Stunning live performances opening for Florence & the Machine and The Strokes, appearances at Coachella, Lollapalooza, and Bonnaroo, plus his own headlining shows have earned Lewis a reputation as a charismatic and compelling frontman. He has also performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Conan, and his song "Old Love, New Love" in video game Grand Theft Auto V was named one of the best songs of 2013 by Rolling Stone. His songs have been heard on such prestige shows as Ray Donovan and Damages.
