UNIVERSITY THEATRE PRESENTS THEATRE FOR YOUTH PRODUCTION OF AT THE ARK AT EIGHT IN MARCH
UW-Madison University Theatre presents an innovative and fun contemporary play by German playwright Ulrich Hub with translation by Heiner Piller.
The rain is starting to fall -- get to the boat! In refreshing new take on Noah and the Ark, 'At the Ark at Eight' seeks to explore free will, the value of human life, and justice-- from the perspective of three tricky, witty penguins. When two penguins are summoned to the ark, what are they to do about their friend? As the penguins sneak their friend aboard under the watchful eye of a forgetful dove, they learn and grow by exploring issues of friendship, companionship, morality and the nature of God. This Theatre for Youth production is suitable for ages 8 and up.
Manon van de Water returns as director for the Theatre for Youth production. Performers include Adam Rowe-Johnson (Penguin 1), Bridgett Vanderhoof (Penguin 2), Andrea Watkins (Penguin 3), Abigail Graf (Dove), and James Gavins (Voice of Noah). The production team includes Scott Harman (Associate Director), Shuxing Fan (Set Design), Jim Greco (Costume Design), Dan Lisowski (Technical Director), Claire Mason (Tour Manager), and Ben Fleer (Stage Manager)
