Verona Public Library
10 Dane County Libraries offer film screenings and discussions
The 17th annual Wisconsin Film Festival is coming to libraries across Dane County. The Verona Public Library will be hosting a free Wisconsin Film Festival Sneak Peek on March 16, at 6:30 pm. Watch trailers from this year's films, learn about the ins and outs of WFF, and bring along any questions you have for a Q&A with Film Festival expert staff. For a full schedule of events, visit madisonpubliclibrary.org/film-fest.
The Wisconsin Film Festival brings world class cinema annually to the Madison area. At the WFF, you have access to view a breadth of intelligent, passionate, and provocative cinematic programming not found in traditional movie theatres. Through locally made Wisconsin's Own films, experimental and avant-garde films, world cinema including non-English language films, and, new in 2015, the Big Screens for Little Folks series for kids and families, viewers hear global stories, see myriad worldviews, and explore non-dominant cultural traditions, all on the big screen. The WFF offers a unique cultural experience that this year is coming to the Verona Public Library for a Sneak Peek of what will be playing at the Fest.
After viewing the Sneak Peek trailers for 2015 WFF films, enjoy a guided, in-depth discussion with a Film Festival staff member on topics ranging from the filmmaking process to the organization of the largest campus-based film festival in the United States. You are encouraged to bring any questions you have about filmmaking techniques and trends, cinematic styles and themes, and the Wisconsin Film Festival itself. Enjoy an evening of shared cinematic experience with your neighbors, friends, and expert Film Festival staff at the Verona Public Library on March 16, from 6:30-8:00 pm.
This event is funded in part by Beyond the Page, the National Endowment for the Humanities, and the Madison Community Foundation.
