Drop off donations for charities and properly recycle items all at a single location, and learn about the new permanent City of Middleton Recycling Center. (www.ci.middleton.wi.us/recyclingcenter)
Donate to St. Vincent de Paul, Middleton Kiwanis and other local charities: clothing, furniture, and household items in clean, working condition; durable medical equipment (crutches, wheelchairs, shower chairs, etc.); eye glasses; books; printer cartridges, cell phones, iPods, and digital cameras.
Recycle safely for the environment and at NO COST to you: CFLs (no tubes), batteries (for a free-will donation of $1/lb), computers, laptops, tablets/iPads, servers, printers, computer parts, cables, wires, adaptors, and chargers, LCD (thin flat panel) computer monitors, UPS units, stereo equipment, VCRs, DVD players, smoke detectors, carbon monoxide detectors, household electronics (i.e. microwaves, vacuums, digital converters, cable and satellite boxes, etc.), scrap metal, gas-powered lawn mowers and snow blowers (must be emptied of gas and oil). No audio/video tapes accepted.
Block Styrofoam Recycling by Uniek: Clean #6 Styrofoam (block polystyrene packaging material like that used to protect electronics and washed cup and food packaging). Not accepted: packing peanuts, foam insulation board, #6 Styrofoam with food still in it, #4 polyethylene sheets or packaging (can be recognized because it does not break easily and does not break into small pieces).
