Cork n Bottle String Band Celebrate 19 Years of Glory?
OK, maybe not glory. We don’t know. We’ve been keeping a low profile lately, playing a show here and there but not making much of a fuss over it. However, our upcoming show marks 19 of the band so we’re making a little bit of a fuss.
Stop us if you’ve heard this one before…we started playing at Ken’s Bar & Grill in May of 1996, putting on a show every Wednesday from 6-9 pm. We played there for a long time. There is a DVD that documents this period and if you haven’t seen it and want to see it, please let us know, we’ll get you one.
Ken’s Bar was sold and closed down and we bounced around here and there, setting up weekly shows at several locations including Glass Nickel Pizza on Atwood, Portal Café (since closed), Liquid Lyrics Lounge (since closed), The Frequency, King Club (since closed) and UW Memorial Union. We haven’t played a weekly show for a very long time but we still get out every once in awhile, usually at High Noon Saloon.
And that brings us to the part that matters:
Cork ‘n Bottle String Band – 19th Anniversary Party
