Jonathan Raymond Popp
Cast members of Broom Street Theater's production of "Corruption Ball" (left to right): Desmond Hawkins, Loryn Jonelis and Doug Reed.
From Madison’s scrappy experimental theater comes a cheeky original play written by local author Kip Price, a software designer by day, political satirist by night. The plot involves a surprise election to the Senate, secret initiation rites and a firebrand dominatrix. Broom Street fans will recognize the company’s new artistic director, Doug Reed, in six different roles, wearing a ball gown. This is DIY theater at its finest and funniest. Through Dec. 16.
Performances are November 17, 18, and 30, December 1 & 2, 7 - 9, 14 - 16. All shows are at 8pm and cost $11. There will be no shows on Thanksgiving weekend. Tickets and more information are available at bstonline.org.
