WHAT TO DO: Equine dreams
Friday-Sunday, April 21-23, Alliant Energy Center; Saturday, April 22, MMoCA, 7 pm
The Midwest Horse Fair, open at 8 am daily, features entertainment and education for both horse owners and those who wish they were. Pony rides for the kids, arena competitions and evening shows (PRCA Rodeo on Friday, Epic Night of the Horse Saturday) will keep attendees at a gallop all weekend. Equine lovers may also be hoofing it over to the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, where celebrated sculptor Deborah Butterfield, who has focused almost exclusively on horses, will give a talk Saturday in conjunction with the reinstallation of two of her beloved sculptures, Dapple Gray (1980) and Untitled (1983), in the museum's lobby. At press time, the talk is currently wait list only.
