Fred B. Jones and Penwern: Frank Lloyd Wright on Delavan Lake
press release:
While many people are familiar with Frank Lloyd Wright’s year round urban and suburban homes, he also designed summer lake cottages, some in Michigan, Ontario, and on Delavan Lake. Five cottages and a yacht club were realized on Delavan Lake. One “cottage,” for Fred B. Jones, was part of an estate designed by Wright. Penwern, as they named it, included the house, a boathouse, a gate lodge, and a stable. Penwern’s story also touches on three other early Wright clients: Henry H. Wallis, Thomas H. Gale, and Ward W. Willits.
