The Full House Quintet is a Madison based jazz group meeting regularly to play one another's compositions and explore the art of improvisation. The quintet is unique not only in its make-up (two bassoons, viola, keyboard and bass), but in the musical backgrounds and variety of styles covered in their compositions.
They play everything from blues and bebop to free improvisations, their diverse backgrounds reflected in their writing and performance styles. They all share an attachment to the UW Madison in some respect, three having been professors of music who are now retired, but have mentored countless musicians in the local area while actively teaching. They will bring their collective voices to the RAW Saturday night performance in the hopes of entertaining all with a variety of original jazz numbers.
