The Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection, in conjunction with the Design Studies Department, is pleased to welcome Mahin Ghanbari, the author of Garden of the Heart’s Desire and a collector of Persian textiles. Ghanbari will present on the topic of her book: the story of Persian love, family and heritage, told through allegorical gardens meticulously crafted into textiles. Come and experience the intertwining stories of love and labor that make up the art of Persian textiles!
Before and after the lecture, please join us in the Helen Louise Allen Textile Collection classroom (1235B) where select Persian textiles will be on display to the public! A reception and book signing will follow the lecture.
