press release: Kenosha native Joyce Westerman played for eight years in the All American Girls Professional Baseball League depicted in the movie, "A League of Their Own." Author Bob Kann shares Joyce's stories of growing up during the Great Depression, working at American Motors, playing professional baseball and much more from his biography, “Joyce Westerman: Baseball Hero.” A book signing will follow the presentation.
This presentation is part of a series of presentations funded in part by a grant from the Wisconsin Humanities Council. The Wisconsin Humanities Council supports and creates programs that use history, culture, and discussion to strengthen community life for everyone in Wisconsin.
