History Sandwiched In: Diamonds in the Rough - Wisconsin's Pre-Professional Base Ball Teams
The sport of baseball could not have a more accurate tagline than 'America's Pastime." Before the Milwaukee Brewers, base ball in Wisconsin was defined by an array of amateur, hometown teams that truly exemplify the popular spirit of the game. Join Ryan Schwartz, coordinator of Old World Wisconsin's historic base ball program, as he explores this incredible sport the way it was back when teams like the Milwaukee Cream Citys, the Beloit Badgers, and the Waukesha Diamonds played and how the Wisconsin Historical Society is bringing the club teams of the 1800s back to life.
