History Sandwiched In: Into the Vaults of the Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research
The Wisconsin Center for Film and Theater Research (WCFTR) is one of the world’s major archives of research materials relating to the entertainment industry. Its collection includes papers from Kirk Douglas, Rod Serling, Stephen Sondheim, Edith Head—to name a few—along with twenty thousand motion pictures, television shows and videotapes, two million photographs and posters, and several thousand sound recordings. Mary Huelsbeck, assistant director of the WCFTR, will explain how papers from stars of the stage and screen came to Madison and will share some treasures from the collection.
