“My B.A. is in History and I have a background in Education and Library Science. I acquired my fascination with wood from my father - an inveterate whittler. I have always had a passion for puzzles. When my youngest child graduated from high school and left home, I found myself with time on my hands. In February of 1990, I bought a scroll saw and taught myself to use it. I design and make free-standing, interlocking jigsaw puzzles. I also make a few one-piece Fantasy Creatures which either stand or hang. My puzzles range in complexity from 3 to 57 pieces, in size from 3" X 5" to 12” X 16”, and in price from $12.00 to $225.00. My creations are divided up among six different categories: Carousel Animals, Dinosaurs, Fantasy, Living Creatures (Sub-Categories: Dogs, Fish, & Others), Zodiac, and Other. The Living Creatures category even includes two orchids. Most recently, I’ve started developing a line of more standard flat puzzles. For the flat puzzles I either work with photographs I’ve taken myself, or develop custom puzzles using photographs supplied by my customers. I use Baltic Birch, and employ a variety of cutting techniques.”- Judy Peterson
