The Forum 30 State St., Madison, Wisconsin 53703
Isthmus is throwing a block party to celebrate the winners of MadFaves, the readers’ poll of everyone’s favorite things in Madison. Chicago band Twin Peaks brings an old-school garage-rock sound and a penchant for leading crowd sing-alongs. Local dream-pop favorites Disq are also on the bill, joined by VO5. The local funk-disco crowd pleasers (which include arts & culture editor Cat Capellaro) won the final spot in a voting round in MadFaves. DJ Nick Nice spins, and a selection of Madison Night Market vendors will join in the fun.
The concert is free and all ages, Thursday, Aug. 24, from 5-10 pm.
Twin Peaks has announced a subscription series the band is calling the Sweet '17 Singles series. Starting in early July, subscribers will receive one 7” single record per month for the remainder of the year (each limited to 300), as well as a 12" compiling all 12 songs in December. You heard that right: that means twelve new Twin Peaks songs before the end of this year! While the songs will be available on streaming services, subscribing to Sweet '17 Single’s is the only way to get your hands on the super limited physical copies first. The first single will be "Tossing Tears":
