Maps Madness: Voters vs. Politicians
press release: All are invited to a unique event on March 7 at noon outside the State Capitol. To illustrate how unfair the gerrymandering process is in Wisconsin, a coalition of good government groups is hosting a “Voters vs. Politicians” basketball game outside of the State Capitol at noon next Wednesday, March 7.
The politicians’ squad will be shooting at a seven-foot rim while the voters’ squad will be shooting at a ten-foot rim.
After the game, there will be a press conference to demand that the legislature hold a special session to pass a bill for nonpartisan redistricting, and to seek pledges from candidates that they support nonpartisan redistricting.
Matt Rothschild of WDC be saying a few words, as will some of our allies in the Wisconsin Fair Maps Coalition. If you are on Facebook, please share the event page widely. It’s going to be fun!
