"With a traditional background but an open and critical mind, I've always wrestled with issues of gender - a tension between what I know and learned. When I compose my art work, collage and fabric, gendered relics of the past, I look back with a bitter sarcasm and nauseated sentimentality."
Nathan Fritz is a recent graduate from Beloit College, where he received his bachelors in both Political Science and Studio Art. Fritz works primarily in large-scale soft sculpture and intricate collages. Fritz's work focuses on social inequalities, particularly between the sexes and economic classes. Fritz is currently living and working in Chengdu, China.
Light refreshments will be served.
