Join indigenous activists from Alaska and Montana as they visit Madison on their Midwest tour and hear about their communities’ resistance to corporate resource extraction which threatens their way of life. Speakers include: Nikos Pastos, environmental sociologist and expert on technological/industrial disasters (Salish - Kootenai Tribes – Flathead Nation, Montana) and Carl Wassilie, community organizer, environmental sovereignty expert, and co-founder of Alaska’s Big Village Network (Yup’ik Nation - Alaska).
