Edgewood College welcomes a graduate back to campus, to speak on an issue that is as timely as it is often divisive.
David C. Couper MA ’06, former City of Madison Police Chief, will deliver a lecture ‘New Police for a New Era’ from 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm, Thursday, April 23, 2015, in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission charge. Seating is limited.
The former chief, who is now a reverend and poet, has been an important voice for alternatives to the escalation of violence in policing, not only in this community but nationally. Recipient of national recognition for his work, he is the author of several books, including Arrested Development - A Veteran Police Chief Sounds Off About Protest, Racism, Corruption and Seven Steps Necessary to Improve Our Nation’s Police.
