“Vintage Style” Quilt Silent Auction Benefits Pinney Library
A queensize quilt created by Monona quilter Kate Rakini will be featured in a silent auction to benefit the new Pinney Library, now in the planning stage, and fund current children's and adult programs. The quilt, entitled “Eight Pointed Stars”, features vintage style fabrics machine pieced in a traditional star motif in an original design, hand-quilted, embroidered ,and embellished with 3,250 hand-sewn beads. Bidding for the quilt begins on May 8 and ends at 3:00 p.m. on June 13 when the highest bidder will be announced. The winner will be notified and need not be present to win. The quilt can be viewed and bids placed at the Pinney Library, 204 Cottage Grove Road, during regular library hours (call (608)2447100 for hours).
