REO Speedwagon
With Sara Evans, A Thousand Horses, DJ Shaquille O'Neal.
The summer’s most improbable concert lineup helps tee up American Family Insurance Championship weekend (golfing is Friday-Sunday at University Ridge). REO Speedwagon currently features three members from the classic lineup that recorded “Keep on Loving You,” “Take It on the Run” and “Roll With the Changes.” The rock band, founded in Champaign, Illinois, will be joined by 2006’s Academy of Country Music Top Female Vocalist Sara Evans, and country rockers A Thousand Horses — both of whom released new records last year. In between sets, none other than retired 15-time NBA All-Star Shaquille O’Neal (who had a brief music career in the ’90s) will deejay. What more do you need?
press release: The Mallards are excited to partner with Breese Stevens Field and American Family Insurance Championship to welcome REO SPEEDWAGON with Guests Sara Evans and A Thousand Horses, Friday, June 22, 2018, Breese Stevens Field. Tickets for the concert are available online, by calling the Mallards Office (608-246-4277), or in-person at the Mallards Ticket Office.
Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal, retired NBA Champion, three time NBA Finals MVP, 15-time NBA All-Star and all-time fan favorite, will perform at the PGA TOUR Champions American Family Insurance Championship concert at Breese Stevens Field on Friday, June 22.
Shaq, a brand ambassador for The General®, one of American Family Insurance’s affiliates, will put his DJ skills on display by performing two 20-minute sets during the concert. The first performance will occur after the opening act A Thousand Horses, and one after the second act, Sara Evans. The headliner, REO Speedwagon, will follow the second DJ Shaq performance.
The popular celebrity, athlete, business professional and comedian will also make a brief appearance at the American Family Insurance Championship at University Ridge earlier that day.
“Shaq is truly larger than life, and we’re sure his personality and performance skills will add a fun and exciting presence during his visit to Madison and participation in our events,” said Nate Pokrass, American Family Insurance Championship tournament director. “For the price of one ticket, concert-goers will be treated to not only one act, but four, and we’re sure Shaq will help us raise even more money for charity.”
