With a sound that’s often described as “beach goth,” the Growlers have made a career out of the unusual. The California trio — which has been together since 2006 — has released five albums of surf-and-psych tinged garage rock that’s won spots onstage alongside the Black Keys and Julian Casablancas and at festivals like Rock in Rio and Outside Lands. Plus, since 2012, they’ve hosted their own festival in Santa Ana, California, aptly named Beach Goth. Put on your blackest swimsuit and don’t miss out.
