The Land Beneath Our Feet

press release: Edgewood College is pleased to invite Greater Madison to a screening of the film “The Land Beneath Our Feet.” The award-winning documentary will be shown at 7:30 pm, Wednesday, February 21, 2018 in Anderson Auditorium. There is no admission charge.

This remarkable work weaves together rare archival footage from a 1926 Harvard expedition to Liberia with the journey of a young Liberian man, uprooted by war, seeking to understand how the past has shaped land conflicts in his country today.

This film is an explosive reminder of how large-scale land grabs are transforming livelihoods across the planet. “The Land Beneath Our Feet” was directed by Sarita Siegel and Gregg Mitman. Mr. Mitman will attend this screening, and will be present to discuss the film at its conclusion.
