Ferguson to New York to Madison
Youth Strategy Session
When: 5p-8p Tuesday March 24
Where: Red Gym, 716 Langdon
What: Youth Strategy Session
Who: Hosted by the Young Gifted and Black Coalition
The Young, Gifted, and Black Coalition will hold a teach-in to discuss the recent murder of Tony Robinson and to unite for justice. The teach-in will take place Tuesday, March 24th, from 5pm-8pm. Space will be provided to reflect on the tragedy and to discuss strategies for pursing justice and an end to state violence.
The Young, Gifted, and Black Coalition have taken to streets in recent months, building a movement to end state violence against all lives—women, queer, trans folks, men, homeless, children, folks with disabilities, those in the prison industrial complex, and undocumented folks. In Dane County, our community especially experiences state violence in the form of mass incarceration, and for this reason our demands have targeted this issue.
Ferguson, New York, Milwaukee, and now Madison teach us that there will be no change unless youth take to the streets. The Young, Gifted, and Black Coalition are reaching out to young people across the city to continue building this movement and to play leadership roles in the fight for liberation.
Food will be provided. Please join us!
