That's kombucha, a.k.a. fermented tea, chock full of nutrients. You won't find it on the menu at Sonic, so learn how to make your own by taking the one-session class Home Brew Kombucha, complete with the brewing kit of a jar, scoby, sugar, tea and cover. What is a scoby? It stands for "symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast." Kombucha II: Beyond the Scoby is the masters degree class in the topic and follows immediately thereafter. (MACSAC), wends its way among three southern Wisconsin CSA farms today. Starting with a breakfast prepared by Cafe Soleil, the ride runs 52 miles, and includes gourmet dishes prepared by the Elver Park, 4-7:30 p.m Tickets to the party only $20, and include a beverage and grilled pizza. Bounty of Green County, a celebration of local eats and drinks produced throughout this abundant section of southwest Wisconsin. The Meet Your Maker showcase features regional farmers, bakers, brewers, cheesemakers, and candy makers, who will be sharing recipes and serving samples of their creations. Sample New Glarus brews will be on tap too, along with brewery tours, live music, artisan displays, and more. The event closes with the Feast on the Hilltop, a limited-seating five-course dinner of local foods, complete with beer pairings.
