REAP Local Harvest Dinner: A five-course dinner to benefit REAP food group will take place at 6 pm, Dec. 8, at Brasserie V, 1923 Monroe St. Duckfat carrot confit, roast tomato tartare, striped sea bass, seared squab and beet ice cream made with ingredients from Crossroads Community Farm, Elderberry Farm and Garden to Be will be paired with beer and wine. $75; reserve seats at 608-255-8500; 48-hour cancellation notice needed.
A second Vom Fass oil/vinegar/wines/spirits store is headed to 119 State St. Owners Ashley and Jessica Morrison are franchisees, while the original University Avenue location is corporate-owned. They expect to carry a similar lineup of products, but may add additional gourmet food items. Ashley Morrison hopes for a mid-February opening.
