Josh Harty, Tom Teslik
Two journeyman Madison performers are preparing to fly the coop to parts near and far.
Americana ambassador Josh Harty sets sail this fall for tour stops in Europe before coming back to the U.S. and taking up residence in a refurbished Previa van for a two-month U.S. swing. Details, as well as unique funding opportunities and incentives, are found on joshharty.blogspot.com. Say so long at his "Farewell for Now" High Noon Saloon show on Wednesday, September 12.
Multitasker Tom Teslik was part of a bunch of inventive indie projects since his arrival in Madison for college in 2006. Treefort, Pushmi-Pullyu and Czech Mate are just three of them. The 24-year-old from Moline will be drumming for the Chicago-based Them Damn Kids on a 50-show tour starting on the East Coast at the end of the month. His farewell show is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Project Lodge.
On a related note, Teslik has been a go-to volunteer at Project Lodge. ProLo executive director Bessie Cherry says the Lodge's East Johnson Street lease is up at the end of September. There are several prospects for a new location but "nothing solid yet."
