Barack Obama may have canceled his campaign appearance in Madison, but some fellow Illinoisans will present a "Concert for Change" this Saturday at the Wisconsin Union Theater -- Obama for America and Students for Barack Obama, doors open at 11 a.m. for the noon performance and rally. Along with the stripped-down Wilco performance, speakers will include Sen. Russ Feingold and Rep. for early voting will follow the rally.
There's no charge to attend the rally, but tickets are required. While the rally is aimed at attracting UW students, the student campaign office says a portion of the tickets have been set aside for the general public as well.
Tickets will be distributed beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday on the 100 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd., near the Dane County Farmers Market; and also at the "Campaign for Change" student office on 216 N. Henry St., just off State Street behind the Overture Center.
Considering Wilco's last appearance in Madison in the much larger Overture Hall was a fast sellout, the available tickets are sure to disappear quickly on Wednesday.
