The state Supreme Court vindicates the Republican agenda by ruling that Dane County Circuit Judge Maryann Sumi "usurped the legislative power" in voiding the budget repair bill. But three justices dissent, including Chief Justice Shirley Abrahamson, who writes that the majority "set forth their own version of facts without evidence. They should not engage in this disinformation."
DOWN: Biddy Martin. The UW-Madison chancellor, having failed in her bid to separate her university from the rest of the UW System, goes to plan B: Separating herself from the UW-Madison.
