Keri Geschke, a 36-year-old Morrisonville woman who went missing for four days, turns up safe in rural Adams County. Geschke was apparently upset after learning she was under investigation for money that went missing from a former employer. Dane County Sheriff Dave Mahoney later states that Geschke won't be charged for disappearing, saying it's "not illegal for adults to seek a time out." Good to know.

The body of 16-year-old Lorenzo James McKittrick, a West High student, is found behind the Fitchburg Ridge Shopping Center, next to a garbage bin. Police later arrest Ke'Andre Marcell Frazier, 17, whom they say admitted to robbing McKittrick and causing his death. Police don't disclose the cause of death, other than to say it did not involve a gun.
Records released by Pro-Life Wisconsin show that Dr. Caryn Dutton, who was central to plans to provide late-term abortions at the Madison Surgery Center, will leave Madison to teach at Harvard Medical School and practice medicine at Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. UW Health has said it remains committed to providing abortions for women 19 to 22 weeks pregnant.

Madison Common Council drops a requirement that the Midwest Biolink Commercialization and Business Center have 50% of its space rented before getting a $2 million TIF loan. The loan was approved last year with the rental requirement, but the center needed the money sooner to snare a $4.5 million federal grant.
A Dane County jury finds 17-year-old Deandre Bernard guilty of first-degree intentional homicide in the June 2009 shooting death of Karamee Collins Jr., 17, on Madison's southwest side. Dane County Circuit Judge Sarah O'Brien sentences Bernard, who was 16 at the time, to the mandatory life in prison.
The Wisconsin State Journal reports that Robert Jambois, chief legal counsel for the state Department of Transportation, has withdrawn his application for Dane County district attorney. That leaves Deputy Dane County DA Tim Verhoff, Assistant DA Tim Kiefer and former Assistant DA Ismael Ozanne vying to replace Brian Blanchard, who was elected appellate court judge. Gov. Jim Doyle gets to decide.
