Dane County Judge Juan Colas grants a temporary reprieve for Igor, the 130-pound bull mastiff that mauled another dog to death in a park last summer. Colas agrees to reconsider his decision that Igor be euthanized, after learning that activists have raised more than $5,000 to send the dog to an animal sanctuary.

In court filings, attorney Stephen Hurley alleges that Dane County prosecutors illegally obtained medical records for Ee Lee. Lee, 24, of Madison, has been charged with murdering her infant daughter in 2007, but was ruled incompetent to stand trial. Hurley says Lee's doctor violated her confidentiality when he shared her treatment records with prosecutors, who asked for a new competency hearing.

The parents of Brittany Zimmermann send a Dane County judge a letter asking him to not release the 911 call Zimmermann made the day she was killed. Zimmermann's parents say releasing the tape, which reportedly includes sounds of Zimmermann screaming, would violate their daughter's privacy. Several media organizations have sued the county seeking release of the tape and other records.
Madison Assistant City Attorney Jim Voss, 62, announces he is retiring, after 34 years with the city.
Fitchburg Ald. Jay Allen declares he will run for mayor. The city's current mayor, Tom Clauder, is not running for re-election. Allen owns Appliance Pros and has been on the Fitchburg city council since 1993.
The New York Stock Exchange says it will delist Spectrum Brands, after the price of its stock drops to 13 cents a share. Spectrum's Rayovac and Remington brands are based in Madison.
Madison's Plan Commission approves plans for a child care center in the Midtown Commons development on the far west side. Neighbors had objected to the plan because they didn't want a commercial operation in a residential area.
Mortgage IT in Middleton informs the state Department of Workforce Development that it is closing, laying off 72 workers.

Madison police say that a woman posing as a Salvation Army bell ringer has stolen three of the kettles, making away with about $500 in donations.

A small plane runs out of fuel and makes an emergency landing at Bridges Golf Course, near the Dane County Airport. The pilot is uninjured.
